Verizon Rolls Out Its V CAST Apps Android Store

Could Android app stores be the next big thing? Verizon users who rock an Android-powered phone might have noticed a new tab within the Android Market, dubbed V CAST Apps. Word is going around that this store will soon be a standalone product that will be competing with the Android Market. The app selection is rather limited at the moment, but you’ll see some of the more popular Android apps there, along with Verizon-specific apps. One of the possible benefits of a carrier-linked app store would be carrier billing, though Verizon doesn’t allow for any special purchase options just yet. Still, an extra option when shopping for apps is something to be welcomed.
