Amazon bites into Kindle Singles

No, Kindle Singles isn’t a new kind of cheese from Kraft, but is actually Kindle books which are described by Amazon as “twice the length of a New Yorker feature or as much as a few chapters of a typical book.” Basically, Amazon has decided that anything which falls between the 10,000 to 30,000 words territory will be characterized as a Kindle Single, which also equals to roughly 30 to 90 pages. Those who are interested in Kindle Singles can always check out its own section in the Kindle Store, and it is a no-brainer that this will be cheaper than a standard book, although Amazon has yet to release official word on its pricing. Kindle Singles will be a snap to read over the Kindle, Kindle 3G, Kindle DX, iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, Mac, PC, BlackBerry, and Android-based devices. Bite sized reading, eh? We look forward to a new generation of authors to usher in the Kindle Singles era with a bang.
