AT&T Introduces Its First LTE And HSPA+ LaptopConnect Devices

AT&T has just introduced the USBConnect Shockwave and Adrenaline, both USB modems will be able to operate on the carrier’s HSPA mobile broadband network, and the Adrenaline will be the carrier’s first LTE-upgradeable device while the Shockwave is the carrier’s first HSPA+ device.

The AT&T USBConnect Adrenaline from LG will be able to receive a software upgrade in the future to take advantage of the upcoming LTE network, offering faster data transfer speeds. It features an internal antenna, plug and play functionality, multiple OS support, multi-color LED status indicator, microSD memory card slot, and built-in GPS for enterprise applications. It will set you back $49.99 with a two-year contract, data plan, and mail-in rebate.

The AT&T USBConnect Shockwave from Sierra Wireless is already prepared for AT&T’s HSPA+ network upgrade which the carrier plans to arrive by the end of 2010. The device should be able to be installed in about 60 seconds and will be free on a two-year contract, data plan, and mail-in rebate.

Finally, customers who want a LaptopConnect device without the fuss of a contract can opt for the USBConnect 900 from Huawei that costs $79.99 that is compatible with the AT&T DataConnect Pass pre-paid service.
