Borders drop prices of Kobo eReader, Aluratek Libre and Velocity Micro Cruz Reader

Borders might still sell more traditional books compared to ebooks, but that doesn’t mean they are not positioning themselves to move into the future with ebook readers. Well, in order to encourage more people to jump aboard the ebook reader bandwagon, Borders decided to slash prices of the Kobo eReader, the Aluratek Libre and the Velocity Micro Cruz Reader. It is interesting to note that the Borders website point out to October 31st as the last day for sales, while the press release notes November 15th as the cut-off date. All three models will get $30 off, which means the Micro Cruz Reader is now going for $169.99 while the Alurtek Libre and the Kobo eReader will both retail for $99.99. It doesn’t matter whether you purchase it online or in store, it is still the same price.
