Concept: El-Assist Charges EVs On The Move

One of the issues surrounding electric vehicles (EVs) is that they may have issues traveling for long periods, due to the need to recharge often. Now an industrial designer has come up with a unique EV charging solution that can increase the range of electric cars by allowing them to recharge on the move. The El-Assist concept uses existing technology and overhead network used by trams to recharge electric vehicles. Using this system, cars would be able to connect to the support vehicles to recharge their batteries and owners would take passengers in exchange for electricity provided by the service, leading to the reduction of private cars and better public transport. Another part of this concept involves using auto-piloted support shuttles which would be used to recharge batteries when traveling longer distances. Such a concept is proposed as an alternative for installing bigger and heavier batteries into EVs.
