DIY DSLR Follow Focus With K'nex

DSLR cameras out there are becoming more popular when it comes to video recording, but one of the common complaints for videographers making the shift to DSLR video capture is that it’s hard to control the manual focus as the focus ring on most DSLR lenses is very tight, completing a full zero to infinity cycle in about 120 or 180 degrees. A follow focus will allow the user to use gears to change that ratio, but suchequipment isnever cheap. Now a handy person out there has decided to come up with his own DIY follow focus tool from K’nex, making it the first child-toy-driven-remote-controlled follow focus out there. You can check out the video of it in action after the jump.
