Eken M005 Android-powered tablet

Eken has a new Android tablet which is simply known as the M005, where this 8-inch device will come with a 4:3 screen ratio as well as a distinctive design. When it comes to processing power, don’t get too excited since it plods along at just 400MHz, sporting 128MB RAM, an 800 x 600 resolution display, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, a webcam, headphone jack, USB port and 2GB of internal memory that can be further augmented with an SD memory card. What’s most disappointing about this would be the Android 1.6 operating system which it ships with, something that doesn’t really jive with an earlier announcement in August that the M005 will be powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. We do hope that Eken will sort this out soon, and provide an update if it really does ship with Android 1.6.
