Fujitsu has phone prototype, gains Continua certification

Fujitsu is first off the blocks to roll out a Continua certified handset, albeit it is still in the prototype form. Just what is the Continua Health Alliance? Well, this is a non-profit organization that was established by Intel as well as other companies back in June 2006, where it will set design guidelines for interconnecting healthcare equipment and electronic devices. Fujitsu hopes that their new handset will see good use in the management of health data, making it easy to transfer health data collected by healthcare equipment that are compatible with the Continua standard to another handset in order to manage the data remotely later on. We do hope to see this handset on the CEATEC showfloor in a bit, so stay tuned!
