We’re not sure how you feel about the GPS-oriented phones created under the Garmin-Asus partnership, but word is out that the joint venture will be ending in January 2011, after two years of collaboration, as the original deal expires. After the split, both companies will be returning to what they did before, meaning that Garmin will continue to offer its navigation services to manufacturers and coming up with dedicated GPS devices while Asus will be focusing on mobile devices as usual. Whether this will affect the upcoming Garmin-Asus Windows Phone 7 device in January 2011 or not remains to be seen.
