Logitech Revue Teardown

Many folks out there have been waiting to get hold of the Logitech Revue with Google TV and now the folks over at iFixit have managed to get hold of a unit, and have done what they do best – take it apart. Upon peering into the unit, you’ll notice that it’s not exactly a speed demon, as it’s powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Atom CPU, which is just slightly faster than Apple’s 1GHz A4 chip in the latest Apple TV. There’s also 1GB of DDR3 memory and 5GB of NAND Flash shared between a Samsung and Hynix chip. After taking it all in, you’ll probably notice that it’s basically netbook hardware. So are you willing to shell out the money for such a setup, or do you think you’d be able to setup your own HTPC that performs better?
