Microsoft’s Windows 7 might function on a tablet device, but there is still one rather important point of differentiation – it wasn’t built from ground up to play nice with finger input, and that means the user experience won’t be as seamless as say, iOS. Well, this might actually lead Microsoft to come up with their own layer, otherwise known as an optional “shell” which could be based on Windows Media Center. Word on the street also has it that Microsoft is working on a new version of Windows that has been heavily optimized for used in tablet devices, but until something concrete comes out, we would take that with a whole tub of salt.
