Microsoft To Launch New Online PC Game Store On Nov 15

Microsoft has increased its stakes in the gaming industry by debuting an on-demand Web store for PC games, namely Games For Windows Marketplace. The store will be launched on November 15 and will offer PC gamers a robust lineup of games, with recurring specials such as Deal of the Week. Publishers that are already on the landing page of the upcoming store include Microsoft Game Studios, 2K Games, Capcom, Rockstar and Warner Brothers. The software giant is promising that the store will be optimized for speed, allowing gamers to quickly obtain games and enjoy them with fewer clicks. Games can also be re-downloaded in the event that they need to be reinstalled. You’ll apparently need a free Xbox LIVE gamertag, Zune Tag or Windows Live ID to purchase titles. The new store will support Microsoft Points as well as credit card purchases.
