Microsoft Windows Embedded Automotive 7 announced

Microsoft has just announced its Windows Embedded Automotive 7 which will be made available to select car makers and suppliers throughout the automotive industry. Meant to support the development of new infotainment systems, Windows Embedded Automotive 7 will function as an industry-leading platform that delivers providing integrated services for communication, entertainment, navigation and information for the mass market. For example, Windows Embedded Automotive technology will power the touchscreen Information Hub for the 2011 Nissan LEAF electric car. Among the key features include speech commands, touch input, hands-free Bluetooth phone communications, advanced dashboard systems for access to music, maps, third-party apps and navigation, and streamlined connectivity with other devices. Hopefully the dreaded Blue Screen of Death or any of its legacy will not show up when you’re cruising down the highway at breakneck speeds!
