We’ve heard so much about solar power, but here’s something that is also worth looking into – wind power. Optiwind has already gotten their mid-sized wind turbine testing off the ground (no pun intended) on a diary farm in Connecticut with hopes of testing its performance to the hilt. This production version of Optiwind’s turbine will feature a solitary cylinder at the top, so you won’t find the old school blades in there. If successful, Optiwind will refine their design and target organizations that have electricity bills around $100,000 per year and want to find ways to offset those expenses with on-site generation. Good luck to Optiwind, we’re sure regular households won’t mind getting all the help they can with a home version, too.
