Palm Pre 2 To Be Sold Directly, SIM-unlocked And Uses Gorilla Glass

Folks who don’t like to be locked to particular carrier will be happy to hear HP confirm that the upcoming Palm Pre 2 will be sold directly through HP SIM-unlocked. Another bit of good news is that the device will be using premium Gorilla Glass, indicating that HP is working to improve the build quality of the Pre 2 over its predecessor. HP Palm Senior Product Manager Tim Pettitt has explained that the development focus in webOS 2.0 is the optimization of speed and multi-tasking performance. Owners of the original Pre are expected to be able to download the improved OS after it has been released.
