Pantone outs color-reading device

We are pretty sure by now that everyone has heard about Pantone, and the company has outed a spanking new color-reading device which will set you back by a cool $650. Of course, there are cheaper alternatives out there such as a $10 iPhone app, but those who are pros in the creative scene will definitely appreciate such a device. Perhaps all the money that is sunk into Pantone’s Capsure device is due to it being able to gain a more accurate reading of a color, making sure you are spot on when it comes to the right shade. There are around 8,000 or so Pantone colors in the entire library, where the camera’s tri-directional technology will help remove shadows as well as other elements that might just skew the main color selection. Said color will be viewable on the 1.75-inch display, where it can be stored for future use. The battery itself is touted to last for more than 1,000 snaps, now how about that? Expect to see Mac support integrated in this device sometime early next year.
