RIM: BlackBerry Bold 9780 is now official

RIM has just announced the BlackBerry Bold 9780 to be official, where this refresh of the Bold 9700 will come with a better camera, additional memory as well as all the trappings of BlackBerry OS 6. Both Telus and Rogers have confirmed that they will be carrying this smartphone eventually, while Bell, T-Mobile and Vodafone will also offer the handset when it rolls out this November. Among the specifications that you can expect to welcome include HSPA 3G (3.6 Mbps) connectivity, GPS navigation, Wi-Fi b/g/n with UMA support, a 2.4-inch HVGA display, a 624MHz processor and 512MB RAM. Not exactly a device that will turn RIM’s fortunes around, but for those who love the classic candybar form factor associated with BlackBerrys, the Bold 9780 is shaping up to be a dainty choice.
