Rumor: Apple Booking All Of Samsung's AMOLED Display Stock?

An unconfirmed rumor is currently going around, claiming that Apple has been purchasing large quantities of Samsung’s AMOLED displays, in fact, the rumor claims that Apple has snapped up virtually all of Samsung’s Super AMOLED stock for 2011, leaving the Korean company to switch its Galaxy S and Wave phones to LCD displays instead. Samsung will continue to fulfill carrier contract orders, but has allegedly stopped all retail deliveries from December onwards. Of course, it’s hard to confirm the accuracy of such claims at the moment, as it isn’t clear as to what Apple would use the AMOLED displays for, since its current crop of LCD displays have been as good as, if not better, than Samsung’s displays, not to mention a large AMOLED display for a tablet such as the iPad would be expensive to produce. Do bear in mind that this is still very much a rumor at this point, but we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for any updates on this rumor.
