When it was confirmed that Sprint was rolling out an update to fix the irritating (read: slow) upload speed of its Samsung Epic 4G, it was assumed that everything would be peachy keen after that. The bad news is that Sprint promptly pulled the update after that, citing an administrative issue. The good news is that the update seems to have gone live again, and devices are starting to receive the update over-the-air (OTA). The roll out will be going on in stages, so don’t fret if your phone hasn’t buzzed you for an update yet. Alternatively you could try a manual update, though the usual warnings about bricking your phone and getting no sympathy apply. The update should fix:
- Wi-Fi standby battery drain
- Amazon MP3 cannot be downloaded in 4G
- Large emails lag in upload speeds
- Increased 3G upload speeds
