Samsung Galaxy Tab Gets Priced; More Expensive Than iPad

According to DSG Group, the folks behind PC World, the suggested retail price for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet, slated to launch on November 1st, will be Â£599.99 for a contract-free option in the UK. That price is a bit more than what Apple charges for its base WiFi + 3G iPad model at Â£529. Customers can also buy the iPad with carrier subsidy by signing on for a voice and data plan–the international version of the Galaxy Tab can be used as a phone and as a data tablet, the former feature will be missing on the U.S. release of the tablet.

Android: Android is the mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005.
