Seiko Epson unveils e-paper display control platform

Seiko Epson has announced to the world that they have managed to roll out a spanking new e-paper display control platform which can refresh the screen of e-paper with a resolution of 300ppi or higher at high speeds. While you won’t be able to see it in action at the moment, the platform will only hit the market next April, where it intends to optimize a display controller, application processor and power supply control chip as part of one solitary system. Best suited for e-paper devices which are used for business and education purposes, we might not see this arrive on consumer class e-book readers just yet.
