T Mobile Releases Statement About G2 Wi Fi Calling And Tethering

While T-Mobile G2 owners might have been happy at earlier reports that T-Mobile would be releasing an update to the G2, offering Wi-Fi Calling and mobile hotspot creation on the Android 2.2 device, T-Mobile has since released a statement, almost refuting earlier reports. The statement confirms that the carrier is working to bring said features to the device, though it didn’t put an exact date on when the update will be arriving. The statement reads:

Wi-Fi Calling and tethering/Wi-Fi sharing are not currently supported on the T-Mobile G2. T-Mobile knows these features are important to consumers and we’re working to deliver them to G2 users in the future. We have nothing further to announce at this time.
