Ubuntu delivers new touch support

For those who are curious to know how multitouch fares in Maverick Meerkat’s Unity UI but do not have the luxury of owning a convertible tablet PC, fret not. Ubuntu Developers managed to cobble together a pretty handy video of the Ubuntu 10.10 interface that runs on their own Dell Latitude XT2 dual-digitizer touchscreen. This $2,400 convertible has above average performance when it comes to being a tablet PC, being full well capable of playing Flash video and OpenGL games without breaking a sweat. It seems that the touch support was pretty well implemented, resulting in a smooth user interface that ought to bring a smile to your face.
