X-ray generation device runs off a couple of D batteries

Researchers at Kyoto University have come up with a new device which might just revolutionize the mobile medical industry. Why do we say so? Well, they have successfully developed a palm-size X-ray generation device that is powered by just two D batteries, now how aobut that? The prototype measures 5cm long and 3cm wide at the moment, so it remains to be seen whether the final product will be as small, smaller or larger. A couple of tantalic-acid-lithium electrodes are located within a glass case, producing heat whenever they are subject to a current, resulting in a release of electrons from within the device. Should the electrons hit the item to be examined, some radiation will be emitted, hence the X-ray.
