Acer has announced its Alive platform, which is a digital hub that’s similar to iTunes and the Samsung Media Hub that’s found on some of Samsung’s tablets. It seems, though, from the screenshots that the Alive digital hub may be a PC-only environment for now, though it could spread to other Acer offerings like the company’s Android smartphones and tablets. There are hubs for Listen, Watch, Read, Play, and Application, which will have apps, movies, audiobooks, radios, podcasts, books, tunes, and games for the desktop, much like how Apple had announced its Mac App Store for OS X systems. Both free and paid content will be available.
