AppleCare Protection Plans Are Now Transferrable To New Products

The folks over at Boy Genius have caught wind of Apple updating its policy regarding the transferability of AppleCare Protection Plans (APP). According to the leak, Apple customers will be able to transfer the APP coverage to a new device without having to cancel the current plan or purchase a new one. While there hasn’t been a formal announcement made to the public just yet, Apple has notified its employees of the new procedure. The policy change only applies to eligible purchases made within the 30-day period prior to a transfer request, simplifying the buying process of customers. It’s worth noting that AppleCare Protection Plans or the iPhone have been transferrable since June this year and the new policy will apply to all Apple products to be covered by a protection plan.
