Archos Offers Android 2.2 Update For Its Gen8 Tablets

There’s some good news for the owners of Archos Gen8 tablets as the company has released the Android 2.2 update for devices such as the Archos 28, Archos 32, Archos 43, Archos 70 and Archos 101. The update offers a faster JIT compiler that should improve the performance of third-party apps, and allows you to install apps on the SD card. Other improvements include support for Bluetooth GPS receivers, faster USB transfers and more accurate battery estimates. The bad news is that the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 update isn’t available for Archos tablets yet as Archos is still waiting for certification from Adobe. If you own the Archos tablets above running on an older version of Android, this might be a good time to update.
