Chrome OS Might Still Arrive This Year

With Christmas just around the corner, many folks are wondering if Santa will be bringing us Chrome OS devices and while that doesn’t seem likely, Google has hinted that despite the delays of Chrome OS hardware, the software might have a limited release this year. Specific details weren’t mentioned, but it’s likely that this will mean that we won’t be seeing the final product, complete with hardware, until 2011. While Chrome OS is able to run on various platforms, Google designed the OS to run specific hardware, such as netbooks. With tablets increasingly popular, it’ll be interesting to see how Chrome OS fits into the whole picture.
