Dell to Offer Unlocked Dell Streak Pre Loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo in U.S.

So far, Dell has only offered the AT&T version of the Dell Streak regardless if you buy it unsubsidized or on contract, but in a few weeks time, Dell has announced that it will be offering a SIM-unlocked version of its Streak 5-inch Internet tablet with phone capabilities via Dell.com in the U.S. The original Streak launched with Android 1.6, which is considered dated by today’s standards, and the new unlocked Streaks will come with Android 2.2 pre-installed, which will be nice as users will be able to get Adobe Flash 10.1 content on their Streak. The company has also announced that December 3rd would be when users who have purchased their Streaks through Best Buy will be receiving their upgrade to Android 2.2.
