It was recently mentioned that Google made a little tweak to prevent Facebook from easily importing user data, probably a vague sign that Google and Facebook are in a bit of a tussle on the Internet. Now if you were sweating over the issue, turns out that the smart folks over at Facebook have been analyzing the situation and have found a solution to re-enable the feature, by using a direct deep link. This leverages on a Google feature that allows users to download their own data for their own use, which is slightly ironic. Will Google be able to block this? Apparently Google could block this approach without too much trouble too, but there is always a risk that it might screw up something in the process flow of other applications. Is this the beginning of a cat and mouse game between Facebook and Google?
