The FCC has taken a look at the Nextbook Next3 ebook reader which hails from China (that’s where most stuff comes from these days anyways), where it will sport a 7-inch resistive touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, running on a dual core 600MHz/550MHz ARM926EJ processor with the ability to store up to 16GB of data on its flash storage, supported by another 8GB of storage space thanks to an SD memory card slot. You can connect to the Internet with the Nextbook Next3 via WI-Fi, although the damper part can be found in the Next3’s user manual with the device running “Android OS 1.5 or above.” With such a low minimum requirement, what’s stopping them from including Android 1.5 at the very least? Hopefully that isn’t the case if this ever arrives Stateside.
