Flash Player Updated to Support Android 2.3, Gingerbread Coming Soon?

Adobe has just released an update to its Adobe Flash 10.1 Mobile plugin for Android on Android Market. Adobe Flash 10.1 was supported on a number of Android devices running Google’s Android 2.2 operating system, codenamed Froyo, and the update to the Flash plugin to support Android 2.3 may give indication that Android 2.3, codenamed Gingerbread, could be coming soon. Ever since Google erected a statue of a gingerbread man on its campus, rumors have been circulating about the release of Android 2.3, which is said to be an evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, update to the Android ecosystem to bring UI refinements, bug fixes, and optimizations. The next major release of Android should come in Android 3.0 in the form of the codenamed Honeycomb build.
