Sharp has just released pricing information for its Galapagos e-reader tablets, which are Android tablets that Sharp is marketing as e-readers. There are two models of the tablet, and the larger version costs more than Apple’s iPad for the Japanese market. The tablets will ship on December 10th and pre-orders for Japanese residents will commence on December 3. The smaller 5.5-inch 1024 X 600 model will cost the equivalent of U.S. $473 while the larger 10.8-inch 1366 X 800 model will cost $651. The tablets are expected to sell through Verizon Wireless in the U.S. in the future.
