Galaxy Tab With 7-inch Super AMOLED Display Pictured

We’ve been hearing rumors of a Samsung Galaxy Tab with a 7-inch Super AMOLED display for some time and now such a tablet has been pictured at the FPD-International event. We previously touched on the subject of this 1200 x 600 pixel display as Samsung is planning to sell it in 2011, though the interesting part is that Samsung decided to showcase it using a Galaxy Tab, fulfilling the dreams of many Super AMOLED and Galaxy Tab fans out there.

AMOLED: stands for Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode, is a display technology in which an electro-luminescent organic compound (organic=contains Carbon) is used to light up pixels. Active Matrix refers to a technique to control the pixels and sub-pixels (RGB components) state which was introduced in the mid-70s. Active Matrix is used with many kinds of displays, but the most famous are TFT LCD and AMOLED.

Samsung: Samsung is a South-Korean conglomerate which counts many subsidiaries like Samsung Electronics, which you probably know very well, but also Samsung Heavy Industries which builds ships, or Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Securities and many more. Samsung is responsible for an amazing 20% of South Korea's exports. In the consumer electronics world, Samsung has gone from being a company with a reputation for cheap products to becoming one of the most respected companies in the world.
