Google Voice for iPhone Now Available Officially from App Store

Google has just made it official on their blog that Google Voice is now available on the iPhone. After some initial spat with Apple about the app being duplicative of the iPhone’s core phone feature, it looks like Apple has come to terms and accepted the Google Voice app into the iTunes App Store for the low price of free. The download is currently limited to U.S. residents only and allows users to forward calls received to their Google Voice number to a number of lines such as the iPhone, home and work numbers so you can pick up whatever phone is most convenient. Additionally, Google Voice will allow users to make low-cost international calls and send and receive text messages with your Google Voice number, which you’ll need to sign up for to use with the app.
