Google’s Android Market intends to do its bit in catching up with Apple’s App Store by working on a new version of the Android Market. It seems that Google will be adding in additional fields to the submission which includes accepting higher resolution icons, a high-res “feature graphic” that measures 1024 x 500 pixels, as well as an optional link to a YouTube-hosted promotional video. Not only that, Google has also placed the marker for up to 8 screenshots which will be submitted in the near future, of course with the resolution maxed out at 480 x 800. This move does point towards Google catering for the proliferation of higher resolution displays in gizmos as technology progresses, and inadvertently will also enhance the web-based interface which the Android Market sorely lacks at the moment. Hopefully Google will deliver more information in due time – sooner rather than later. Image courtesy of Android Police.
