Kingston Introduces Its SSDNow V100 Affordable Consumer SSDs

We recently saw some performance-oriented SSD drives from Kingston and now the company has announced a new series of mainstream SSDs in the form of the SSDNow V100. These drives are available in capacities of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, all offering TRIM support and an optimized controller for high speed read and write performance of up to 250MB/s and 230MB/s respectively on the latter two capacities while the 64GB version offers 145MB/s write speed. The drives offer a 1.5Gbps or 3Gbps SATA interface and will be available as either standalone or in upgrade bundle kits with the latter offering cloning software, SATA and power cables and a 3.5-inch hard drive mounting bracket to make the transition less painful. The 64GB, 128GB and 256GB versions will set you back $120, $225 and $490 respectively and you’ll need to shell out an additional $10 if you’re purchasing the notebook or desktop bundles.
