LG Launches X170 Dual-core Netbook

There aren’t too many dual-core netbooks out there but LG has just introduced its X170 netbook over in Korea. While there isn’t any mention if the netbook will ever be available in the US, it’s worth noting that it offers users the option of purchasing it with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 singe core processor or a 1.5GHz Atom N550 dual-core processor, not to mention a choice between a 1366 x 768 pixel or 1024 x 600 pixel 10.1-inch display. The LG X170 will be sold in Korea for around 630,000 to 670,000 Won, which is around $600. One of the useful features of this netbook will be the use of LG’s SmartPOP, allowing users to access their phone directly from their PC to dial in, receive calls, sync data, send/receive text messages or even transfer files. Specifications of the X170 include:

  • 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor or dual-core 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual-core processor
