LG Mobile Design Competition sees some interesting concept phones

Concepts are always worth looking into since they tend to free your imagination of physical shackles, waiting for future technology to catch up in order to make a particular design or device possible. The latestLG Mobile Design Competition which was held last week in Tokyo saw young aspiring designers come together to duke it out in two categories – realistic and idealistic, where the former has plenty of opportunity to be commercialized while the latter intends to break free of current thinking patterns when it comes to cellphone designs. The Gold Prize in the Realistic Category saw Fazzoletto (as seen above) by Kairi Eguchi taking the award home, boasting a slim and slick design with a cleaning cloth stored inside the front face to clean the display each time the cover slides open. Neat, eh? As for the other Gold Prizes in the Idealistic Category, they are the Ring by Yumika Shiraki and Toccata by Yoshiki Matsuyama. You can check out the other innovative ideas in our photo gallery.
