Verizon Wireless has just announced yet another smartphone of the Android variety, this time around hailing from LG’s stable where it is known as the Vortex. With the LG Vortex, you won’t have to keep your fingers crossed for an Android 2.2 update since it already ships with said operating system, coupled with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, 3G Mobile HotSpot capability, Skype, Swype (a really great piece of software for extremely fast message composition), a whole bunch of pre-installed carrier/manufacturer apps such as VZ Navigator among others, Bing Search and Bing Maps. It is going for $80 after $100 mail-in rebate on contract from November 18th if you’re interested. [Press Release]
