Micro SATA SSD Drives Get Smaller And Slimmer, Measuring In At Just 3.3mm Thick

Foremay Inc., a leading OEM manufacturer of industrial SSD drives has announced that it has begun to ship its 1.8-inch micro SATA SSD drives in volume to commercial, industrial and military clients. The new drives feature improved read and write speeds of 280MB/s, capacities of up to 400GB and a bare drive measurement of just 3.3mm thick. Since the introduction of Apple’s new MacBook Air, the bare SSD drives (which have no housing) have gained more attention, especially in notebooks where space might be a luxury. The company is offering three versions, namely the SC199 which features industrial operating temperature range, a 5mm thickness and metal housing; the EC188 for business use; and the OC177 bare drive which is just 3.3mm thick. Prices will vary depending on capacity and quantity.
