Nintendo WiiWare Demos Return Nov. 22nd

Owners of Nintendo Wii that are Internet-connected will soon have access to limited-time demos of select game titles through Nintendo’s WiiWare portal beginning on November 22nd. The company had removed demos in January and is re-enabling the demos once again with some stringent limitations, leading some to question the success and purpose of having downloadable demos to start with. Compared to rivals Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade and Sony’s PlayStation Network, WiiWare demos are limited in selection and will only be available for a limited time with new demos coming out every Monday. Right now, on WiiWare, all users have to go by to purchase games are screenshots and descriptions. Hopefully, Nintendo will relax its demo policy and enable more demos for longer periods of time to “allow people to sample a wide selection of games to help them decide which ones best suit their tastes,” a goal that the company had set albeit with restrictions on selection and time. On November 22nd, demos for WiiWare’s BIT.TRIP FATE, And Yet It Moves, ThruSpace and Jett Rocket will be made available.
