If you happen to own a PR2 robot, then you might be pleased to know that there is a new project available for the PR2 robot, where the project will alert the PR2 to the mechanical effort that is exerted whenever it lifts or pushes objects. For example, the PR2 is smart enough to sort empty bottles from full ones without making a mistake, and with the proper implementation, it is also able to sort boxes by the amount of force required to push them around. Seems like common sense to a human, but when it comes to the world of robots, something like this is definitely an achievement worth applauding! We do hope the PR2 will only go from strength to strength.
