Richard Branson Launching Project Magazine For iPad

Is there something special brewing with newspapers/magazines and the iPad? Hot on the heels of the recent The Daily newspaper for iPad rumors, word is out that Richard Branson is funding an iPad-specific magazine, dubbed Project. The magazine will cover content such as entertainment, travel, business, design and international culture. Could such deals be appearing because Apple might be implementing subscription billing into the App Store?

iPad: the iPad is Apple's tablet computer. While not "invented" by Apple (the newton was arguably a PDA), the iPad has re-ignited the tablet format as it appeared at the right time, with the right hardware and apps. the first iPad was launched on April 2010. It was followed by the iPad 2 in March 2011 and a new iPad (gen 3) in 2012.
