Samsung Exhibits 30-inch 3D AMOLED Display

Samsung has been really busy with its displays recently and after showcasing a 7-inch Super AMOLED Galaxy Tab and possible 10-inch Galaxy Tab, the Korean company is also showcasing a 30-inch 3D AMOLED display. If Samsung keeps churning out these modern displays at this rate, we’re going to be in for a real treat when it comes to future gadgets, though we really do hope that there won’t be another display shortage like the last one.

AMOLED: stands for Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode, is a display technology in which an electro-luminescent organic compound (organic=contains Carbon) is used to light up pixels. Active Matrix refers to a technique to control the pixels and sub-pixels (RGB components) state which was introduced in the mid-70s. Active Matrix is used with many kinds of displays, but the most famous are TFT LCD and AMOLED.

Samsung: Samsung is a South-Korean conglomerate which counts many subsidiaries like Samsung Electronics, which you probably know very well, but also Samsung Heavy Industries which builds ships, or Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Securities and many more. Samsung is responsible for an amazing 20% of South Korea's exports. In the consumer electronics world, Samsung has gone from being a company with a reputation for cheap products to becoming one of the most respected companies in the world.
