Sony To Resume Selling eBook Readers In Japan After 3 year Hiatus

Perhaps it’s the popularity of the iPad or eBook readers such as the Kindle, but Sony will be resuming sales of its eBook readers in Japan for the first time since 2007, when the company stopped doing so due to low demand. Sony is now aiming to win a 50 percent share of the local market for digital publications and will be offering the Reader Pocket Edition that offers a 5-inch display that will be available in stores for about 20,000 Yen ($240) from Dec 10, while a larger touch-screen version will set you back 25,000 Yen ($298). How do you think Sony’s eBook readers will fare in Japan this time?
