SunEdison announced plans to build Europe’s largest photovoltaic power plant in Italy back in March and now the company has inaugurated the plant, built in a city between Bologna and Venice. The plant is capable of generating about 70MW of power, enough to power about 17,000 homes. The plant is the largest single solar farm in Europe and will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 40,000 tons, something Mother Nature would be quite happy to hear about.
