
Remember the T-Mobile G2 that has seemingly phoenix-like qualities when it comes to rooting the smartphone? Well, apparently someone has managed to overcome that hurdle – basically, this means the G2 need not be rooted each time it is booted, as the root is permanent. Guess HTC’s best attempts thus far to keep it locked down tightly has failed, although props to the team at HTC for making it so challenging. How does this solution stack up against its predecessors? Well, apart from sticking to the tried-and-true temporary root, a bunch of additional steps were taken to keep things permanent. The money moment would be to see faces of HTC execs when they hear of this news…
