TiVo has started implementing plans to subsidize their DVR hardware with a monthly fee, where Premiere is now yours for free as long as you agree to a 2-year commitment at $20 per month. Of course, for those who don’t want to be tied down that long, you will have to fork out $99, albeit requiring only a year-long arrangement. As for TiVo Premiere XL, it will hit your bank account for $299 with a one-year commitment if THX-certified recorded shows are your cup of tea.
