VUDU, which is owned by Walmart, has just announced that from today, anybody to buys Disney Pixar’s Toy Story 3 on DVD or Blu-Ray at Walmart will be getting a free digital copy of the movie on the VUDU streaming movie service. What does this mean? Well, if your kids want to watch Toy Story 3 and the physical disc is left at your aunt’s house, you can just stream the digital copy to your home theater or to your PC or Mac via Boxee’s free media center software. Are we quickly moving towards a world where purchase of physical media will include access to a digital copy of it automatically?
